The fall season begins around the first weekend in September. The spring season starts around the second weekend in April. The season runs for approximately 8 weeks.

teams are formed and coaches are selected.
Coaches are adult volunteers who typically have a child on the team. Premier coaches must submit an application and be approved by the Premier Coaches Selection Committee.
A coaching license is not required in our house program. However, we provide the opportunity for each ROYSA coach and assistant coach to obtain a coaching license various levels. Ask your child's coach what level of license he or she holds.
Every coach, assistant coach and league official must carry a Risk Management card. The Risk Management program is administered by the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA).
You should be contacted approximately 2 to 4 weeks prior to the start of the season.
Each age bracket has a girls division and a coed division.
Each team in the U6-U10 division receives trophies. The U12-U19 divisions receive trophies for placing 1st or 2nd in their division standings.
In U6-U8 we supply game shirts for each season. In the U10 and above divisions we provide game jerseys once per year. We also pay the required state insurance fee for each player. We pay the referee fees, cost of team trophies and provide a team photo to each player.

We have added late registration dates and they can be found on the registration page of this website. If those dates have already passed you will need to contact the registrar via email at registrar@roysa.com.
Registration forms will be distributed and collected by your child's coach prior to the end of each season. If your child is a new player or did not re-register with the team, please check the registration page for open registration dates.

Yes, if you contact the division manager, registrar or treasurer 30 days prior to the start of the season. After that date a written request must be presented to the board for approval. Approval is granted only if you have moved from the area or the child is unable to play due to injury. An administration fee could be withheld. Refund request forms are available on the website.

We make every effort to ensure our program is open to all members of our community. If payment is a problem, please complete a Registration Fee Waiver form and attach to your child's registration form or mail a completed form to ROYSA, P.O. Box 977, Royal Oak, Michigan 48068-0977
Please be patient, our league is run by volunteers and sometimes it can take time for the treasurer to receive the team registration envelopes and get checks deposited. If you are concerned, please contact the treasurer via email at treasurer@roysa.com.
We offer coaching clinics, team clinics and player clinics throughout the year. Contact your child's coach or the vice president who is the director of coaches development. You can also visit the coaches zone for clinic information.
We do not allow players to switch teams after players are placed, unless special circumstances apply. If you want your child placed on another team for the next season do not submit your child's registration with the team. Instead, register your child at one of the open registration dates.
You can make a note of the request on your child's registration form. We try to honor all requests, but we can not guarantee that the request can be granted. Division managers, not coaches, form teams based on space availability and team roster sizes.
All board members email addresses are posted on our website. This is the preferred method of communication or you can call the ROYSA voicemail system and leave a message. If you feel the matter is important and needs immediate attention then please feel free to contact them at their home, but please be courteous. Board members and division managers are not paid employees and sacrifice family time in order to make our soccer league run smoothly.
Please contact any board member or send a note via the ROYSA webmaster. We welcome all involvement.
Contact the vice president/coaches development director or the division manager of the division you are interested in.
The parks department and our field representative rotate fields used by ROYSA throughout the year. It is important to stay off any field that is being rested. This allows time for newly seeded fields to take root and recover from a soccer season. This process allows ROYSA players to play on fields that are well maintained and free of ruts, bumps and bare spots.
ROYSA merchandise can be purchased through our equipment manager. Contact him directly at equipment@roysa.com or go to the merchandise page and mail in an order form.
You can contact ROYSA via the comments page on the ROYSA website.
Comments submitted via the website go to the webmaster. The webmaster will forward the information to the appropriate party for action.
Typically games fall on the weekend, but games are also scheduled for various weeknights at 6:00 p.m.
Each division has their own field to play on and game fields are rotated each season so that fields can rest. Information on your child's field location will be handed out by the coach. Field directions can be found on our website.
It is very important for your child to attend practices. Practice is the place where your child learns and improves his soccer skills. Soccer is a team sport and requires all players to work together to achieve the goal. If you are unable to get your child to practice and arrangements cannot be made through your child's coach or another players parent your child will still be allowed to play. However, keep in mind that your child's skill level will probably not match the other players and he will not be getting the full benefits of our program.
