Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, the location and times of the ROYSA Goal Keeper Training have changed. They are STILL starting TONIGHT however there are the following changes:

Location: Oakland Elementary School – 2415 Brockton Avenue (not Oakridge)

Times: U-10 & Under – 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
U-11 & Older – 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Dates: Now 1/11, 1/18, 2/1, 2/8, 2/29, 3/14

Six sessions, limited attendance, $20 per goalkeeper for all six sessions!

STARTS THIS WEDNESDAY!

What: Progressive Goalkeeper Training, 6 Session Total, Jan – Mar

Where: Oakridge School Gym
When: Wednesdays – January 11, January 25, February 8, February 22, March 7, March 21
Who: U10 and under from 6pm to 7pm; limit 20.
U11 and up from 7pm to 8pm; limit 16.
Cost: $20 per keeper.
How: Register through ROYSA website, click on registration tab
Equipment: Indoor soccer shoes or tennis shoes; shin guards; ball; water.
Optional Equipment: Goalkeeper gloves, padded attire, tape.
FAQs:

Do I need to attend all six sessions? No, but training is progressive; keepers should sign up only if they can make most of the sessions.

Is it $20 per session? No, it’s $20 total for the six sessions.

Can I wear soccer cleats? No, you must wear indoor soccer shoes or gym shoes.

ROYSA Coaching Community Update

ROYSA Coaching Community:
ROYSA is pleased to announce a new series of coaching clinics to further enhance the level of coaching that our organization provides our players. There are two series tailored specifically for coaches at all levels. All of the sessions will be directed and overseen by Mike Ruddy, the ROYSA Director of Coaching.
Each series is limited to 30 coaches on a first come, first serve basis and will be held at Keller Elementary School. When you sign up for the clinic you are signing up for all of the clinics in your series. There is no fee to attend these clinics.

1) ROYSA COACH INTRODUCTORY CLINIC

These clinics are intended for U-5, U-6, U-7 and U-8 recreational coaches.

There are three parts to this series:

Session 1: Feb. 2nd 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Dribbling and Methods

Session 2: Feb. 15th 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Passing – Receiving / Care Prevention

Session 3: Feb. 29th 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Shooting & Team Management / Laws

Location: Keller Elementary Gym (Campbell & 12 Mile)

Class Size: 30 coaches

Instructor: Mike Ruddy

2) ROYSA ADVANCE COACHING CLINICS

These clinics are intended for all Renegades coaches and U-9 through U-19 Recreational Coaches.

There are four parts to this series:

Session 1: January 4th 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Dribbling and Methods

Session 2: January 11th 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Passing / Receiving & Curriculum

Session 3: January 18th 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Shell Game & Shooting

Session 4: February 1st 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Attacking and Defending

Location: Keller Elementary Gym (Campbell & 12 Mile)

Class Size: 30 coaches

Instructor: Mike Ruddy

HOW TO REGISTER
To sign up for a clinic you must be registered in the Blue Sombrero registration system. Once you are registered (or if you are already) log into your account and hit the red Register Now button to the right of your name. Then select the appropriate clinic.
Only active ROYSA coaches are eligible to participate in the clinics.

RENEGADES Foot Skills Training Sessions

WHO—RENEGADES Players of any age
PLACE—Keller School gym, Campbell Rd. S of 12 Mile (except Mon. Jan 23 @ Oakland School)
DAY—Monday evenings
DATES—begins Nov. 7; ends March 26 (no training Dec. 19, Dec. 26, Jan. 2, Jan. 16)
TIMES: 6:00-7:00pm (first 3 November sessions)
8:00-9:00pm (all other sessions Nov. 28–Mar.26)

FORMAT:

Players will be grouped by age; major focus is development and improvement of individual touch
Each session will focus on foot-skill sessions directed by Mike Ruddy (ROYSA Director of Coaching)
Dribbling with inside, outside, sole, laces, and heel
Stopping, starting, turning the ball, and first touch receiving
Moves on and off the ball to possess and beat opponents will be covered
Small games will conclude each session

How to get involved? Show up ON TIME with flat training shoes, soccer gear, and inflated soccer ball

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE FOOTSKILLS TRAINING? Dribbling skills & first touch
IS THERE A FEE? NO!
DO I NEED TO REGISTER MY PLAYER? NO!
WILL IT BE FUN? Activities are designed to build basic skills through repetition and fun games
AS A COACH OR PARENT, DO I NEED TO BE THERE WITH MY TEAM? NO!
CAN WE COME ON SOME MONDAYS & NOT OTHERS? YES, but more frequency = greater learning
WHAT IF IT SNOWS? If school is cancelled, so is Foot-skills training; if afternoon storm, we will try to cancel by email ASAP.

Siena Heights Homecoming

The Renegades of ROYSA went to Siena Heights Homecoming to celebrate the opening of a brand new 4 million dollar stadium. They walked out with the teams and where able to be ball girls.

The Siena girls absolutely loved having the Renegades there and said that the cheering really made their night. Scooter thought that everything turned out perfectly and was very grateful that everyone took the time out of their Friday night to come and watch his program.
